Public Servants for Americans?

If a baby starts crying because it's hungry it's up to the parents or babysitter to see what's troubling them. It could be a dirty diaper, the fact they are hungry, or just want to be cuddled. If one parent says they believe the child is hungry, while the other says the child needs to have their diaper changed. Do they just stand there and belabor their respective points or do they take action? It may be that both are correct but surely they don't want to just let the baby cry. This is how I feel about lawmakers not coming to a compromise, wanting to inconvenience those they are sworn to serve just to get their own way. I'm sorry democracy isn't like BK. You aren't guaranteed to have it your way.

I would venture to think most Americans would be okay with the compromise, now former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy came to with house Democrats to keep the government open. What is the purpose of House Representatives? To serve the people who elected them. To come up with laws and regulations that benefit most Americans. I commend Kevin McCarthy for his non selfish act and working for the betterment of the American people. His efforts helped avoid a government shutdown. Unfortunately a subset of Republican lawmakers have voted to unseat McCarthy, led by Representative Matt Gaetz. Among the biggest challenges for the next House speaker will be getting Republicans to agree on how to fund the government. If that doesn't happen by Nov. 17, an estimated 3.5 million federal workers would lose pay, including two million military service members. An unknown number of federal contractors, including janitors, cafeteria workers and security guards, could also be out of work.

Some 700,000 employees like border patrol agents and air traffic controllers would be asked to come to work during a period when they would forego pay.

Now let me ask you. How would you feel going into the Holiday Season with no checks coming in for the foreseeable future due to no actions of your own?You are still expected to go work and not receive immediate compensation. That's psuedo slavery. With inflation already a problem some of our lawmakers would rather not extend an olive branch and rather shutdown the government than try to come to an agreement just because of their own selfish motives. They are treating us, the American people like chess pieces. They took an oath to serve in the best interest of Americans. Sadly many of those elected are only serving themselves. They will still be paid, they won't miss a paycheck. They already have a significant salary higher than most Americans so having their bills paid will be no issue to them. But what about the single mom who's a TSA agent and still has to pay daycare for her to even go to work. This is the epitome of selfishness in my opinion. Why? Elected officials don't want to put in the effort to solve problems together. I get it everyone has the same best interest in mind. The methods to achieve them are drastically different and there in lies the issue. Think Malcom X and Dr King. Magneto and Professor X. Money allocation is one of the main reasons. It's very important because it affects us all as taxpayers. But Americans shouldn't be penalized due to a stalemate. Get it done. We are the United States of America. With this being a country where Christianity is the most practiced religion, why don't lawmakers lean on their faith. Much like Abraham when God said take his son Issac to the top of the mountain for a sacrifice to the Lord. Abraham had faith that the Lord will provide. Treat the budget as so. Penalizing the people you've sworn to represent is not the answer.
